Running a School

At the heart of our mission stands our very own school — Banurdih Maa Tara Shishu Shiksha Kendra — nurturing young minds from Nursery to Class 4. With over 100 enrolled students and a dedicated team of 5 teachers, we create a safe, inclusive learning space where every child, regardless of background, receives quality education. Because we believe no child should be left behind simply due to circumstance.

Educational Support Programme

Education doesn’t end inside a classroom. Through our Educational Support Programme, we provide free study materials, notebooks, and essential supplies to students who need them most. We also offer free tuition services spanning from primary to higher secondary level, ensuring that financial hardship never becomes a barrier to learning. Our volunteers and educators work tirelessly to keep every child’s academic journey moving forward — one lesson at a time.

Community Health Initiative

Good health is a right, not a privilege. Through our Community Health Initiative, we extend support to marginalised individuals and families facing medical crises — covering medicine costs, assisting with hospital bills, and offering guidance during difficult times. Beyond immediate aid, we regularly organise health awareness camps and medical check-up camps, bringing essential healthcare closer to those who have limited or no access to formal health services.

Environmental Awareness & Action

A cleaner environment begins with an aware community. We conduct impactful awareness drives on pollution control, cleanliness, and pressing environmental challenges. But we don’t stop at awareness — we act. Our volunteers actively lead cleaning drives, remove garbage from public spaces, restore ponds and drains, and plant trees across the region. Through consistent grassroots effort, we work toward a healthier, greener Purulia for today and for generations to come.
